The Itinerary
May 2
Arnhem, Netherlands (embark)
Begin your journey in Arnhem, The Netherlands. Transfers will be arranged from either Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport (AMS) or central Amsterdam directly to the ship. We highly recommend arriving at least one day prior to avoid any issues caused by flight delays or cancellations.
May 3
Zons, Cologne
History buffs will enjoy an expertly led tour through Cologne’s Old Town, where three medieval gates remain standing, as does the old city hall with its Renaissance façade. Wander through the city’s historical center and take in its charming atmosphere, narrow alleyways flanked by old houses, and countless breweries. No matter how you choose to explore Old Town, you’ll also have ample free time to explore on your own.
May 4
Koblenz, Boppard
Get to know Koblenz, a historic town with a colorful past and eclectic architecture.
Excursion Option: Watch the waters of the Moselle meld with the Rhine’s as you stand on the spit of land called German Corner: It’s the perfect spot for a symbol of German unity, an equestrian statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I, who united the nation in the 19th century. (There’s another symbol of German unity here too: three panels of the Berlin Wall.) Behind it is Koblenz’s oldest church, St. Castor’s Basilica, first erected in the ninth century, and just one of the charming churches and squares you’ll encounter as you wander through Old Town. Like many Rhineland towns, Koblenz suffered at the hands of Louis XIV’s forces—that’s why you’ll see so many baroque features in the buildings you pass, since so many needed to be reconstructed after the French left. That’s also why the Church of Our Lady has twin onion domes. Despite their travails over the ages, though, Koblenz’s citizens kept their sense of humor: One example of it might catch you by surprise as you pass the fountain known as the Spitting Boy, which spits water without warning.
Experience Germany’s fabled Rhine River in beautiful Rüdesheim. Enjoy a private tasting of estate-grown Rieslings at Castle Vollrads or explore Rüdesheim and the impressive Niederwald monument.
Excursion option: Vineyard Hike-Immerse yourselves in the vines today with a refreshing walk through the vineyards by Rüdesheim. Starting with a walk by the river, you’ll wind your way past the markets square and up through the Weinlehrpfad, the Wine Trail. Along the way, you’ll pass several historic buildings and monuments, learning their stories from your guide as you go, enjoy a glass of wine made from the vines around you, and discover some beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes, including the Nahe river with its Roman Bridge.

Boppard, Rüdesheim
Exploring Medieval Germany
May 6
Germersheim
The Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany is known for its idyllic natural environment, rural charm, and expansive vineyards. Forge an authentic connection to this beloved area on one of two unique experiences, led by locals with unique passions. For your first option: meet an estate turning Palatinate winegrowing tradition on its head—where the vineyards don’t produce grapes for wine, but for specialty vinegar aperitifs. At the other, visit a mill-turned-collector's-museum, where you’ll find a fascinating collection of items from around the world and a gorgeous garden.
May 7
Strasbourg
See Strasbourg on foot with an insightful local expert, where this historic town with its cobbled lanes, half-timbered homes, giant stork nests, and impossible-to-resist pastry shops will win your heart. Kehl, directly across the river from Strasbourg, will be your ship’s base while you explore the Alsatian capital. If you’re feeling adventurous, take advantage of Uniworld’s bicycles or Nordic walking sticks and explore the banks of the river.
May 8
Breisach (Freiburg)
Breisach is your gateway to the Alsatian wine road and your launching point for an excursion along the celebrated Route des Vins, which hugs the foothills of the Vosges mountain range.
A special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you this evening.
Disembark the ship. If your cruise package includes a group departure transfer or if you have purchased a private departure transfer, you will be transferred to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg for your flight home (unless, of course, you’ve decided to extend your trip with the post-cruise extension to lovely Lake Lucerne).
May 9
Basel (disembark)

FAQs
How can I join this group trip?
We can continue booking staterooms for this group as long as there is availability. The benefits of booking through our group is a group discount of $300 per person and currently an additional 10% off early booking discount. Please contact Stacia if you are interested in joining this group.
A 10% deposit is required at booking. Balance will be due prior to January 2, 2027. This deposit is refundable (-$200 per person) up until one year prior to sailing. Then deposit becomes nonrefundable.
What do I pack?
Comfortable, sporty, smart-casual daywear is appropriate both onshore and onboard. It's best to prepare for a variety of weather conditions, depending on your travel season and the regions through which you will be cruising.
We also suggest sturdy walking shoes, as you will do a significant amount of walking on shore excursions, often over cobblestones or uneven terrain. A sun hat, rain gear, and a coat or wrap for chilly evenings are useful items to have. While there is no formal dress code for dining ashore, concerts, special events onboard, etc., men may want to bring a sports jacket and women a cocktail dress or pantsuit. Neckties are optional. Please note that shorts are not allowed at dinner aboard the ship.
What is the voltage?
Europe: Electrical current is 220V, the European standard; however, each stateroom and suite has one 110V outlet.
Where do I fly into and out of for this itinerary?
Guests should fly into Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport (AMS) and arrive before noon on embarkation day . It is highly recommended to arrive one day prior to embarkation to avoid any issues from delayed or canceled flights.
Departure city will be EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL). Disembarkation will be in the morning of May 9. It is recommended not to schedule a return flight prior to 2pm.
What are the transfer options between ship and airports?
Flights purchased through Uniworld come with a standard group transfer as long as flights adhere to transfer guidelines (arrival prior to 2pm in AMS).
Private transfers can be reserved for additional costs. Group transfers will be booked through Uniworld or a third party supplier if guests book their own airfare and will be paid for as a courtesy by Stacia at DBT.
Any pre- or post-cruise extension booked through Uniworld or our group (Amsterdam) will include transfers.
What about gratuities?
Europe: Gratuities for onboard personnel (ship staff, crew, Cruise/Tour Manager) are included during the cruise/tour. There is no tipping on board.
Can I extend my trip pre-and/or post-cruise?
YES! Uniworld offers a post-cruise 3 day, 2 night extension in beautiful Lake Lucerne, Switzerland. Pricing and booking for 2027 has not yet opened. Guests on this group trip will be notified when booking for this post-cruise extension is available.
We are working with a land tour company to curate a special 3 day, 2 night extension prior to embarkation in Amsterdam. Itinerary and pricing to be finalized in early 2026.
What is a Trip Protection Plan (TPP)?
Travel protection begins while you are still at home. Plans might include last-minute cancellations due to sickness, inclement weather, or a terrorist incident occurs.
